Assistant General Manager, Royal Ashdown Forest Golf Club

An exciting role is available for an Assistant General Manager (AGM) at the prestigious 36- hole Royal Ashdown Forest in East Sussex. The AGM is an interesting and varied position offering the successful candidate an opportunity to gain broad operational experience at a premier private members’ golf club. This position is ideal for an aspiring Golf Club Manager continuing their career in the industry.

Primary Objective:

Responsible to the General Manager you will lead the Golf Managers’ and Golf Administration Assistant in delivering the highest levels of service to all club members and guests. To be responsible for the coordination all golf events in conjunction with the F&B department, club office, pro-shop and any relevant club committee. To be responsible for, and to drive, revenue and profit in line with established golf budget targets. To be a role model, motivate and lead the team. To champion the very highest levels of customer care and deliver exceptional member and guest experiences.

Key Skills:

➢ At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role
➢ Keen and enthusiastic attitude coupled with drive, energy and stamina ➢ Ability to work under pressure and multi task
➢ Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal
➢ Computer literacy
➢ Ability to contribute and influence at a senior level within the business ➢ Ambition to succeed, willingness to work hard and strong desire to learn➢ Flexibility to work hours required by the business

Salary: The salary is commensurate with the position and the overall package will include: Two bedroom cottage onsite, bonus + share in the staff fund distributed annually after a qualifying period, pension contribution and meals on duty.

Hours: Standard workdays will be Monday to Sunday, 8.30am to 5.00pm on a shift basis. There will also be a need to attend evening meetings. There is a standard 1⁄2 hour (unpaid) break for lunch which is provided free of charge.
