Description:
Surbiton Golf Club is seeking to appoint a Deputy course manager to join our established team on a full-time basis.
Surbiton Golf Club is an 18-hole private members’ course with a heritage stretching back to 1895. Situated in the leafy suburbs of South West London, close to Kingston and the A3, our course – one of the best presented in Surrey – continues to evolve and adapt to golf technology, and the needs of golfers of all levels.
The successful applicant will be working in a highly productive team and will work alongside the course manager to support the development and maintenance of the course to a very high standard.

Key responsibilities
- Supervising and motivating the greenkeeping team.
- Deputising for the Course Manager in their absence.
- Assisting in planning and executing maintenance schedules and projects.
- Overseeing course, short game area and driving range maintenance.
- Managing equipment and resources.
- Supporting with project work
- Ensuring Health & Safety and COSHH compliance.
Available to work Monday to Friday 45 Hours in Summer and 35 Hours in Winter with weekend work on a rota system.
Salary
£40,000 plus overtime
Qualifications and experience:
Essentials: -
- Minimum of 5 years Greenkeeping experience and qualified to NVQ level 2 or equivalent in sports turf management.
- Spraying certification PA1/PA2/PA6
- Good communication and organisational skills.
Desirable: -
- Qualified to or working towards NVQ level 3 or equivalent in sports turf management.
- Chainsaw certification CS30/CS31
- Good knowledge of irrigation systems
- Knowledge and working experience of health & safety procedures
- Strong staff supervision, leadership and team development skills.
