Shirehampton Park Golf Club - Bristol

Shirehampton Park Golf Club is a parkland course established in 1904, located on the edge of Bristol and offering spectacular views across the Avon Gorge towards the Clifton Suspension Bridge. The Club enjoys a friendly, welcoming atmosphere and prides itself on excellent playing surfaces and year-round course presentation.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Course Manager to lead our greenkeeping team and take full responsibility for maintaining and developing our 18-hole course to high standards. Reporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate will oversee all aspects of course management, including turf care, staff supervision, machinery maintenance, and health and safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver the annual course maintenance and agronomy programme.
• Manage, motivate and develop the greenkeeping team.
• Maintain and improve course presentation and playability for members and visitors.
• Efficiently manage finances, purchasing and supplier relationships.
• Ensure all work meets current health, safety and environmental standards.
• Liaise with the Club’s agronomist and management team on strategic course improvements.

Candidate Requirements:

• Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Sports Turf Management (or equivalent).
• PA1, PA2 & PA6 spraying certificates.
• Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Proven experience in a similar or deputy-level role.
• A professional and proactive approach with strong attention to detail.

Salary and Benefits:
