Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated suitably qualified head PGA Professional to develop their retail and teaching skills.
Our facilities include:
• State of the art indoor Trackman Studio
• Practice area
• Outdoor putting green.
• One of the best course layouts in the area.
Shotts is a James Braid designed part heathland part parkland 18-hole golf course established in 1895. The course is 30 minutes from both Glasgow and Edinburgh.
We are a Scottish Golf safeguarding compliant club.
As a key member of the team, the head professional is often the first point of contact for members and guests.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for retail with the opportunity to build their own business while playing a major role in developing our junior section working closely with our junior conveyor.
There is a huge demand for individual coaching, club fitting.
They will require:
· An extremely positive attitude with great interpersonal and communication skills.
· To be enthusiastic and forward thinking, constantly looking for innovative ways to improve the service to the members and visitors.
· Be a dynamic, friendly, hardworking and conscientious individual who is suitably qualified to take on a new challenge to develop his/her career within an inclusive and progressive golf club.
· The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability, drive and enthusiasm to build their business in line with the club’s future ambitions. As a key stakeholder they must develop long term relationships built on trust and confidence with the members, visitors and suppliers.
The Package Available
· The position will offer a competitive remuneration, flexible working hours and work life balance. The financial package will be based on experience, qualifications and knowledge of the role.
· It is anticipated that the successful candidate will be self-employed where they will be responsible for their own PAYE tax and National Insurance contributions as well as any pension scheme to which they are affiliated.
The Head professional will be responsible for
· Starting duties and welcoming all members and visitors to the club.
· Coaching, tuition and club fitting for individual and group.
· Supporting the club in developing and building our junior and overall membership.
· Complete management of the retail business area including stock control of all golf equipment, clothing, recruiting and managing retail assistants.
· Custom fitting and club repair services.
· Management of green fees and electric buggy hires on behalf of the club.
