ROLE OVERVIEW

Machynys Resort is seeking an exceptional and motivated Head PGA Teaching Professional to lead all coaching operations at our award-winning facility. This is a self-employed position offering full access to our world-class practice facilities — including priority access to our private teaching bay — to deliver premium golf instruction to players of all ages and abilities.

The role involves overseeing a team of 4 PGA Professionals, driving the club’s coaching programmes (including juniors, ladies, beginners, and elite players), and ensuring the continued growth of the coaching business at Machynys. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

LEADERSHIP & TEAM MANAGEMENT

- Lead, manage, and mentor a team of 4 PGA Professionals.
- Coordinate the coaching team’s diary, standards, and programme delivery.
- Foster a culture of excellence and professional development.

COACHING DELIVERY

- Provide first-class golf coaching to players of all levels, from beginners to elite golfers.
- Utilise the private teaching bay and modern technology to deliver data-driven instruction.
- Offer individual lessons, group sessions, and bespoke performance programmes.

PROGRAMME DEVELOPMENT & GROWTH

- Design and implement structured coaching programmes across key participation areas — juniors, ladies, members, and visitors.
- Drive engagement, retention, and revenue growth in the coaching department.
- Collaborate with management and marketing teams to promote coaching activities and events.

FACILITY & BRAND REPRESENTATION

- Represent Machynys as a leading destination for golf performance and player development.
- Maintain the highest professional and personal standards in all interactions.
- Contribute to the club’s wider goals, events, and member experience initiatives.
 
KEY REQUIREMENTS

- Fully qualified PGA Professional (Accredited Status).
- Proven success as a golf coach with strong client relationships.
- Experience leading or coordinating a coaching team.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
- Commercially astute and self-motivated, with a passion for growing participation.
- Competent in using modern coaching technologies (e.g., Trackman, video analysis, CoachNow).
