Drayton Park Golf Club, a private members' club nestled in the heart of Staffordshire, is renowned for its beautifully maintained course and exceptional experiences for members, visitors, and guests. Established in 1897, this James Braid classic is seeking a passionate, skilled, and motivated Course Manager to lead our greenkeeping team.

About the Role
 
As the Course Manager, you will ensure our golf course is maintained to the highest standards, providing an excellent playing environment. Reporting to the Course Director, you’ll oversee daily operations, lead the greenkeeping team, and drive course improvement projects.
 
Recent investments at the club include:

- Installation of a Toro Lynx irrigation system
- A full John Deere equipment fleet
- Phase 1 of a bunker renovation project completed in 2024, with Phase 2 and 3 planned for 2025/26
- Maintenance of USGA standard greens

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage turf health, irrigation, pest control, and fertilization
- Plan and execute maintenance schedules and improvement projects
- Supervise, train, and motivate the greenkeeping team
- Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations
- Ensure the course meets the highest standards of playability and aesthetics
- Oversee the maintenance of machinery and equipment
- Manage course budgets
- Communicate effectively with members

What We’re Looking For:

- 3–5 years of experience in management or a similar role (current deputies are encouraged to apply)
- Minimum Level 3 Sports Turf Qualification or equivalent
- Spraying and Chainsaw certification
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire a team
- Knowledge of irrigation systems and machinery maintenance
- Attention to detail and a passion for excellence
- Knowledge of maintaining USGA greens is an advantage
