Situated in the heart of Fife, Thornton Golf Club is a Par 70, tree lined parkland golf course. Founded in 1921 the club desires that the appropriate candidate plays a key role in leading our greens team and developing our fine golf course to be recognised as the best parkland course in Fife.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the management and preparation of the golf course, including the planning, monitoring and supervision of all course-related work activities and the maintenance of all greens equipment.

The successful candidate will be a motivated, progressive individual with a high standard of work and a keen eye for detail and must be able demonstrate a professional and modern approach to greenkeeping to achieve the highest standards of course presentation.

The Deputy Course Manager reports to the Course Manager who oversees all aspects managing and developing the presentation of the course. of the running of the Club. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the Management Committee’s work including the establishment of annual budgets

Applicants will ideally possess the following qualifications, experience and skills:

- At least six years green keeping experience
- NVQ Level 3 in Sports Turf Management or equivalent
- Spaying certificates PA1, PA2 and PA6
- A good working knowledge of irrigation systems including repair and maintenance
- A good working knowledge of machinery operations and maintenance, including servicing
vSupervisory experience including training and development of team members
- Chainsaw certification
- A sound knowledge of Health & Safety
- Basic knowledge of golf course construction
