Overview:
The Golf House Club, Elie is seeking a dedicated and motivated Deputy Course Manager to support the Course Manager in maintaining and developing its 27-hole course, driving range, and other sporting facilities. The role involves supervising daily operations, leading and training the greenkeeping team, and ensuring the highest standards of course presentation and safety. Ideal candidates will have strong leadership skills, relevant turf management qualifications, and hands-on experience with modern maintenance equipment and irrigation systems.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join the Greenkeeping team at The Golf House Club, Elie.
We are currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Deputy Course Manager to join our team. Our team is responsible for maintaining 27 holes for golf as well as various other sporting activities including Crown green bowls and driving range facilities.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the Course Manager in all aspects of course maintenance, development and presentation.
- Assist and where necessary deputise for the Course Manager.
- Under the Course Manager assist in preparing staff work rotas and work schedules ensuring the most effective use of staff.
- Lead, train and develop greenkeeping staff according to the Club’s training policy and its procedures.
- Understand and implement the Club’s policy on Health and Safety.
- Supervise the efficient, effective operation and safe handling of all machinery.
- An appreciation of the rules of golf relating to golf course maintenance.
- Demonstrate and promote excellent customer service to Members, Visitors and Guests enhancing the reputation of the Club.
- Communicate effectively and assist where necessary with other staff members, Club Members and visitors in a positive and professional manner. Technical Knowledge and work experience required
- SVQ/NVQ 3 or HNC in Sports Turf Management or equivalent
- Proven experience as an Assistant Greenkeeper or First Assistant.
- Experience of working a range of turf maintenance machinery.
- Ability to demonstrate potential for planning and supervision of tasks performed by others and being responsible for results.
- Driving licence
- PA1, 2 and 6 spraying certificates
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to course excellence.
- Strong communication, leadership and team management skills, with a positive can-do attitude.
- Knowledge of modern irrigation system.
