Deputy General Manager, Royal Malta Golf Club

The Royal Malta Golf Club (RMGC), with a proud heritage and vibrant membership, is seeking to appoint a dynamic Deputy General Manager (DGM) to support the General Manager in leading the day-to-day operations and strategic development of the Club.

As second-in-command, the DGM will play a critical leadership role in ensuring exceptional member experience, A – Z operational excellence, and the successful delivery of corporate golf days, commercial partnerships, and events. This is an ideal opportunity for an ambitious, service-oriented professional to take a leading position in one of the most prestigious sports organisations in Malta.

About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager, the Deputy General Manager will be responsible for:

- Leading, motivating, and developing teams to deliver high standards across all departments, with a particular emphasis on front-line member services and operations.
- Managing internal communication and digital platforms including the Club’s marketing, website and social media.
- Overseeing membership administration, including corporate engagement and reciprocal club arrangements.
- Supporting day-to-day operations including tee sheet management, tournament planning, locker and buggy shed allocations, and policy enforcement.
- Driving marketing, promotions, and sponsorship initiatives to strengthen the Club’s profile and revenue streams.
- Representing management across various club committees (e.g., Men’s, Ladies’, Seniors’ sections) and assisting in cross-functional coordination.
- This is a highly visible and hands-on leadership role, demanding both operational know-how and a strategic mindset.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:

- 5+ years of proven leadership experience in golf club or high-end hospitality management.
- Graduate qualifications such as CMAE, a Golf Management Degree, or a related discipline.
- Fluency in written and spoken business English.
- A natural passion for golf and understanding of club life and member expectations.
- Exceptional interpersonal, administrative, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong IT literacy and confidence in digital tools (e.g., Canva, social media, club management systems).
- The flexibility to work early mornings, late nights, weekends, and public holidays as required.
