Located close to the pretty Victorian Town of Southport at the heart of England’s Golf Coast the area offers residents wonderful shopping and outdoor recreational opportunities with excellent housing options and a high-quality choice of schools. For the golfing enthusiast, it presents ample options of world leading courses to play alongside S&A (arguably still one of the finest and memorable challenges a golfer can ever experience).
We are currently seeking a professional, dynamic, and experienced General Manager who will both protect our great traditions and history whilst at the same time be very forward thinking to lead our golf and clubhouse operations into the future to ensure the legacy of S&A continues for what we hope are the many generations of golfers that follow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Strategy: Oversee, direct, and manage all aspects of club operations, providing vision and building strategic direction whilst fostering a culture of excellence in delivery of service across all staff and departments.
- Member Relations: Maintain and enhance the club’s reputation for outstanding member and guest experiences.
- Financial Management: Prepare budgets, manage and control resources, and ensure financial sustainability, growth and longevity.
- Operational Oversight: Supervise staff and processes across all departments, including golf, hospitality, clubhouse and course maintenance. Ensure you maintain smooth, efficient and effective operational control.
- Governance: Work collaboratively and in partnership with the Board of Directors to implement policies that comply with all legal, financial, employment, and golfing legislation to achieve strategic objectives.
- Marketing & Events: Control and balance our membership recruitment, represent and promote the club globally to welcome an annual set volume of visitors, and oversee the successful delivery of all golf tournaments and social events.
Qualifications & Skills:
(Whilst desired the below are not necessary all essential as ultimately, we seek the most capable candidate who can demonstrate an ability to take our club forward with vision and enthusiasm).
Proven track record in a senior leadership role within the golf, hospitality, sports, or club management sectors.
Exceptional communicator and team player with strong interpersonal, financial, organisational and operational management skills.
A commitment to being the best by delivering outstanding service and fostering a welcoming employment and social environment.
The ability to support and provide examples of expertise, experience, and success in the aforementioned areas of key responsibilities
