The Club:
Brocton Hall, recognised as one of the leading golf clubs in the Midlands, requires an astute and personable General Manager with highly developed interpersonal skills for club administration, staff management and to work closely with the management committee on club priorities, strategy and projects.
Established in 1894 and with a beautiful 18-hole parkland course designed by Harry Vardon, Brocton enjoys a full and thriving membership and waiting list reflecting its prestige.

Candidate Profile
Scope of the Position:
- The General Manager (“GM”) will be responsible for all aspects of club administration and staff management and will work closely with the club’s management committee on club priorities.
- The GM serves as the linchpin, aligning the club’s day-to-day activities with its long-term objectives and sustaining an environment that enhances member satisfaction and engagement. This role is crucial in ensuring the club’s sustainability and operational excellence.
- The GM is responsible for managing staff and administration of all programs, services, and activities in line with the objectives and goals of Brocton Hall Golf Club on a day-to-day basis to ensure that all aspects of the club’s activities are managed effectively and to the satisfaction of the management committee.
- The GM should be available to keep members informed and to be available to deal with all day to-day queries that may arise.
Experience & Qualifications:
Ideally, a third-level qualification or professional accreditation with a recognised body, preferably in the areas of hospitality, business, finance, hospitality or club management.
Highly developed personal skills. Naturally inclusive. An energetic and enthusiastic self-starter, flexible and adaptable with the ability to manage complexity efficiently.
At least 5 years’ demonstrable success in management in a sizeable organisation, to include operational and budgetary responsibility. Exposure to managing a business within the hospitality industry, a comparable services facility, or a members’ club would be preferred.
Comfortable being visible and a consummate communicator (both written and verbal) able to engage effectively with diverse groups such as committee members, sub-committee members, club officers, different club membership sections and demographics, line managers, general staff at all levels, visiting groups and individuals, suppliers, partners, England Golf and other governing bodies, and other external agencies and stakeholders.
