Overview:
The Club is seeking a new General Manager who will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day management and operations of the club. This will include managing all the staff, administration including finances, the course and clubhouse and will do this in a manner that maximises revenue, customer satisfaction and staff development. The General Manager will report to the Chairman and work closely with the Board to ensure the strategic direction of the Club is adhered to and achieved.

This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to manage Knott End Golf Club and support the ongoing development of the Club and its facilities.
The Club
Knott End Club, established in 1910, is a private members club with a playing membership of over 400 and a social membership of 275. It has a stunning 18-hole Golf Course designed by James Braid, which represents all that is best in a part links and pastoral course. The front 9 holes run alongside the river Wyre with breathtaking views of the Bowland Hills, Morecambe Bay and our fabulous club. The back 9 take you down into the woodland part of the golf course with fantastic views of the local countryside and wildlife. The clubhouse boasts a nautical design with a contemporary interior, a haven for both members and visiting golfers.

The General Manager will report to the Chairman and work closely with the Board to ensure the strategic direction of the Club is adhered to and achieved.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Leadership and good interpersonal \ people management skills
- Experience of marketing, business development and growing revenue streams.
- “Hands on” flexible approach
- Good communicator – verbal and written
- Sound financial and commercial acumen
- High level of IT literacy and communication skills, including golf specific management software, MS Office packages and all social media. The Club uses Sage Accounts and Payroll, Croft accounting, BRS for timesheet and membership and Handicap master for tournaments.
- Working knowledge of licensing law, employment law, health and safety legislation and risk management
- An appreciation of golf and the expectations \ traditions of a private members’ club
- A willingness to undertake skills and industry training work with England Golf and other golf organisations – supported by the Club
- A willingness to work flexible hours to meet the demands of the position
Desirable Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- A University \ PGA \ College recognised qualification
- CMAE Management Development Programme qualification
- Knowledge and experience of golf club management with a proven track record in business process.
- Sound knowledge of the Rules of Golf and the World Handicapping System
- Knowledge of website content management
- Relevant hospitality “front of house” experience.
- Clean driving licence.
Salary and Benefits
The salary range offered is £40k – £45k with attractive benefits.
