We are seeking a dynamic and motivated General Manager to lead the continued development and daily operation of Shortlands Golf Club. This is a pivotal leadership position at an ambitious and forward-thinking club.

The Club

Shortlands Golf Club (SGC), established in 1894, is a traditional nine-hole parkland course offering year-round playability and a rewarding challenge for golfers of all levels. Now celebrating over 130 years of history, the Club continues to invest in its future, with plans for significant capital improvements to both the course and clubhouse facilities. Affectionately known as “Bromley’s hidden jewel”, SGC enjoys excellent transport links to Central London and Kent, and prides itself on being a welcoming and social club.

The Role

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated General Manager to lead the continued development and daily operation of Shortlands Golf Club. This is a pivotal leadership position at an ambitious and forward-thinking club.

Reporting directly to the Chairman of Directors, the General Manager will:

- Support and deliver strategic goals set by the Board, and continuously look for opportunities to enhance club operations and services.
- Be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Club, including the Clubhouse, Food & Beverage, General Administration, and Finance.
- Lead a dedicated team to deliver an exceptional experience for members, visitors, and guests.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on professional who can demonstrate:

- A proven track record in management and administration, ideally within a golf or hospitality environment.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to oversee financial systems and identify areas for commercial improvement.
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to manage, inspire and develop staff.
- Experience overseeing or working closely with catering operations.
- Proficiency in technology, social media, and marketing, to help modernise and grow the club’s profile and engagement.
- A proactive, adaptable, and service-oriented approach, with a strong focus on delivering quality and excellence.
