Overview:
To lead the strategic delivery, growth, and operational management of the hugely successful and popular GolfSixes League programme now in 600+ golf clubs across Great Britain and Ireland. The role will focus on expanding participation, growing female involvement from the current levels of 25%, enhancing the experience for young players, and supporting clubs and volunteers to deliver high-quality, inclusive team golf opportunities for juniors in GolfSixes League.
The role will involve considerable stakeholder engagement, both internally and externally, with the ability to navigate complexities as well as build and foster strong and trusted relationships.
Whilst the remit and skill set of the role is broad, focussed on one of our flagship programmes, the GolfSixes League Manager is also a key member of the Development team, and as a programme manager it comes with an expectation of contributing to the wider department’s work programme modelling strong communication behaviours as well as championing our organisational values.

Description:
SALARY: Circa £35k

HOLIDAYS: 20 days plus bank holidays and additional discretionary days at Christmas
HOURS: The length of a normal working week will be 40 hours. Additional hours may be required at certain times in the year to help with specific projects or events.
PLACE OF WORK: Hybrid (Home-based with national travel) with visits to the Golf Foundation Head Office in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
PROGRAMME MANAGEMENT
- Oversee the planning, coordination, and delivery of the GolfSixes League programme across Great Britain and Ireland working with R&A and the Home Nation National Governing Bodies.
- Manage league structures, schedules, and communications with participating clubs and GolfSixes League Team Managers.
- Manage significant programme income and expenditure in-line with budgets.
- Ensure alignment with the Golf Foundation’s strategic goals and values.
STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT
- Build strong relationships with golf clubs, county associations, national governing bodies, and volunteers.
- Provide training, resources, and ongoing support to local organisers and club leads.
- Manage the fulfilment and supplier relationships to ensure high quality resources for programme participants and team managers.
GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT
- Identify and implement strategies to grow the number of leagues and participating clubs.
- Promote inclusivity and diversity within the leagues, ensuring access for underrepresented groups.
- Create innovative solutions using insight and research to increase the reach of the programme to new audiences.
MONITORING AND EVALUATION
- Collect and analyse participation data and feedback to measure impact and inform improvements.
- Produce regular reports for internal and external stakeholders.
MARKETING AND PROMOTION
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to raise awareness of GolfSixes League through digital, social, and traditional media.
- Represent the Golf Foundation at events, presentations, and meetings.
EVENT PLANNING AND COORDINATION
- Manage and high profile GolfSixes League showcase events, coordinate with venues, sponsors, and partners to ensure events run smoothly and successfully.
- Develop detailed event schedules, including tee times, player registration, and award ceremonies
GENERAL DUTIES
Act as an ambassador for the Golf Foundation and represent the organisation on appropriate occasions.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience in sports development, programme management, or community engagement.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders.
- Strong working knowledge of tournament or league management software e.g. Golf Genius
- Passion for youth sport and making a positive social impact.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel nationally and work occasional evenings/weekends.
DESIRABLE
- Knowledge of the golf industry and junior golf development in Great Britain and Ireland.
- Experience working with volunteers and/or in a club environment.
- Understanding of safeguarding and inclusion in sport.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and digital reporting tools.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is required.
- Enhanced DBS check will be required for the successful candidate.
- Training and induction will be provided.
