Calderfields Golf & Country Club aspires to grow and improve on the last five years investment and now requires a Head Greenkeeper to continue the great work done previously and to compliment its existing team. The team is made up of a blend of loyalty and experience, all are hard-working with a range of qualifications and skills to present the Parkland course at its best all year round.
Overview of Role
CGCC is recruiting a self-motivated Head Greenkeeper with a strong work ethic. This individual will work closely with the Director of Golf and have full control over their team and daily presentation of the golf course.
The Golf Course Manager needs to have excellent management skills, as well as technical, agronomic, and mechanical knowledge. They also need to be able to motivate staff and promote the organization's values. Deliver within budgets and deliver exceptional presentation of the course within line with safety and environmental requirements. Work collaboratively with the rest of the Senior Management Team to contribute the overall growth and prosperity of the club.
CGCC is a family owned business which liaises through is seniors management team to work with the golfers committee to continue to improve its playing experience and facilities. Having effective communication skills are also essential, as well as taking pride in your work and being attentive to detail.
Qualifications:
- NVQ in sports turf management level 2, sports turf management level 3 & ideally sports turf management/business management level 4 or degree level qualification, but, not essential.
- Pa1, Pa2 & Pa6a spraying qualifications
- 3 years minimum experience in an equivalent role
Preferred but not essential:
- Irrigation repairs & maintenance
- Chainsaw certificate
Position Details:
- 40 hour working week, including weekend work on a rota basis
- 28 days annual leave
- Use of the course and facilities
- Nest Pension Scheme
- BIGGA Membership
- Salary will be appropriate with the position and qualifications and experience above £30,000
