Description:
As the 15th Oldest Recorded Club in the World (1793) and a Scottish Golf Championship venue, Fortrose & Rosemarkie Golf Links is proud of its heritage which was re-designed by James Braid in 1932. The Club and Golf Course is only 12 miles from Inverness City Centre in the Highlands of Scotland.

The head greenkeeper will be responsible for the maintenance of the golf course, practice range and clubhouse grounds and to supervise the maintenance and servicing of all golf course equipment and golf carts in compliance with maintenance standards whilst ensuring that appropriate service records are maintained.
Organise, implement and participate in a comprehensive program of maintenance work, including greens, tees, fairways, bunkers, rough and all other areas of the golf course to ensure that the links course is being maintained and presented to the agreed segmentation standards.
Maintain the security of the golf course and maintenance compound and to ensure that all internal areas are maintained to a satisfactory standard. Make all necessary purchases of supplies and materials from approved vendors within budgetary limitations and to maintain appropriate records.
Produce an annual budget in order to achieve the agreed standards and being representative of the proposed maintenance plan. Follow the Maintenance plan, any subsequent reports and adhere to the agreed budget.
Maintain a close business partnership with the Greens Convenor/Club Manager. Meet formally with the Greens convener/Committee/Club Manager at least quarterly to discuss all aspects pertaining to the upkeep of the Links. Train, motivate and effectively direct all members of staff, as well as following appropriate procedures on hiring and disciplining those members of staff.
Conduct and chair Health & Safety meetings with all maintenance staff on a quarterly basis. The candidate should also be competent in the construction experience incl. Greens/ Tees/Bunkers & should also have a level of grow-in knowledge.
The successful applicant will be expected to stamp their own mark on the role and will be able to demonstrate experience of:
Short and long-term maintenance and renovation planning along with the Implementation of operational procedures and accurate record keeping including greens performance and labour allocation. In collaboration with the Greens convener/Committee/Club Manager, produce an annual report of greens performance, as well as an annual plan of works for each forthcoming calendar year.
An ability to communicate confidently at all levels and have strong focus on customer care with an ability to communicate clearly and effectively with members, visitors, contractors and club staff, upholding the club’s standards and nurturing positive relationships.
In addition to the above specialist requirements, strong candidates should also have core skills including: Hands on attitude to the job along with computer literacy with knowledge and relevant qualifications in all matters needed in the successful operation of a Greenkeeping team.
