Description:
Within the Capital, and beneath the spectacular backdrop of Arthur’s Seat, you will find one of Scotland’s most outstanding parkland courses. Situated within minutes of Edinburgh’s busy city centre this tranquil setting has been home to Duddingston Golf Club since 1895 – a course with rich history and known for its challenging design and sweeping fairways. Set in delightful surroundings, the Braid Burn is a key feature, which meanders throughout the course, coming into play on no fewer than 14 of the 18 holes, always sitting in wait to grab that errant shot!

Any successful applicant must have their own transport and be willing to work weekend mornings.
Hours: Based on 37.5 hours per week (including weekends) plus overtime working as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Greenkeeper in the day-to-day management of the golf course and grounds
- Supervise and lead the greenkeeping team to deliver high standards of course presentation and maintenance. Ensure effective operation of turf care equipment and machinery
- Conduct regular inspections of the golf course, grounds, and irrigation systems, ensuring any issues are addressed promptly
- Support in the planning and delivery of essential maintenance work, including aeration, top dressing, and course renovations
- Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment for the team
- Promote a positive working relationship with other departments to ensure smooth operations across the resort
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience in greenkeeping, ideally at a supervisory or managerial level
- Strong knowledge of turf management, horticulture, and maintenance equipment
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively
- A pro-active attitude, with the ability to work independently and solve problems as they arise
- A genuine passion for maintaining high-quality golf courses and grounds
- Knowledge of health and safety practices within the greenkeeping industry
- A valid pesticide application certificate (PA1 PA2, PA6) and relevant greenkeeping qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 3) are highly desirable
