Overview:
Greenburn Golf Club in Fauldhouse, West Lothian, is seeking an experienced and business-minded Head PGA Professional to lead its golf operations. This role offers the opportunity to manage a thriving retail business, deliver high-quality coaching, and drive member engagement within a progressive club environment. With access to first-class facilities, including an indoor TrackMan studio and dedicated practice areas, the successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing the club’s reputation and member experience.

About the Role
As the Head PGA Professional, you will be the primary point of contact for members and visitors. You will have the opportunity to:
Retail Management
- Develop and manage a thriving retail business, with full control over shop operations, including purchasing, merchandising, inventory, staffing, and sales.
- Provide expert advice on equipment, apparel, and accessories, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Maximize retail revenue through strategic planning and exceptional service.
- Offer custom fitting, club repairs, and merchandise services to meet member demand.
Teaching & Coaching
- Deliver individual and group coaching using modern teaching aids and technologies.
- Develop and promote structured coaching programmes for all skill levels.
- Play a leading role in developing our junior programme, working closely with the Junior Convenor.
- Stay current with coaching techniques and maintain CPD standards as a PGA Professional.
Business Development
- Actively promote club services, events, and coaching through digital platforms, social media, and member communications.
- Drive member engagement, recruitment, and retention through high-quality service.
- Build strong relationships with members, guests, and the wider golfing community.
- Support club membership growth and junior development initiatives.
General Administration
- Collaborate with the Club Administrator, Treasurer, and Management Committee to align with club goals and budgets.
- Prepare reports and budgets related to golf operations and retail.
- Ensure compliance with all health & safety and safeguarding policies.
- Manage competition fees, visitor green fees, and buggy hire on behalf of the club.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- PGA Professional status (UK or recognised equivalent).
- Proven experience in a similar role within a private members’ club or high-end golf facility.
- Strong coaching background with the ability to deliver lessons to all levels.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Commercial acumen with experience managing retail and coaching businesses.
- Proficiency in golf-related software (e.g., BRS, ClubV1, V1 Golf, TrackMan, or similar).
- Passion for golf, service, and continuous professional development.
- Drive and ambition to grow a successful business aligned with the club’s future goals.
Remuneration
A highly competitive basic remuneration package is offered, with additional incentive-based earning opportunities. The financial package will be tailored to reflect the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and vision for the role. The successful applicant will be responsible for their own tax, National Insurance, and pension contributions.
