Senior Greenkeepers

Alvarez & Marsal Golf (A&M Golf) is excited to announce the recruitment of Senior Greenkeepers to contribute to the development, grow-in, and maintenance of a new world-class golf course. Located just two miles south of the home of golf, this project offers stunning panoramic views of St. Andrews and across the sea to Carnoustie.

A&M Golf is driven by a passion for the camaraderie of golf, exemplified by premium properties like Hogs Head Golf Club in Ireland and Paako Ridge Golf Club in the USA. These venues deliver exceptional "Bucket List" experiences with outstanding service and hospitality.

The new St Andrews development will feature:
✔ An 18-hole championship golf course with state-of-the-art practice facilities
✔ A Par 3 course and a Himalayan putting course
✔ A clubhouse, spa, lodge, and cottages
✔ A restored farmhouse offering a unique halfway house dining experience

Senior Greenkeeper Role

Reporting to the A&M Senior Agronomy Team, the Senior Greenkeepers will play a vital role in the construction, grow-in, and long-term maintenance of the golf courses and grounds.

Responsibilities include:
✔ Assisting with the construction of USGA greens, bunkers, and extensive drainage/irrigation systems
✔ Supporting sand capping for tees, fairways, and primary rough
✔ Managing seeding, turfing, and grow-in establishment processes
✔ Assisting with ongoing cultural practices, annual seed, and turf establishment programs
✔ Applying pesticides and fertilizers based on data and Integrated Pest Management practices
✔ Operating and maintaining irrigation and pumping systems
✔ Providing training for staff on equipment use and maintenance
✔ Monitoring and recording maintenance activities, data collation, and relevant administration (H&S, training manuals, purchasing, etc.)
✔ Ensuring golf course conditions meet A&M standards
✔ Collaborating with contractors, consultants, and the project team to maintain optimal playing surfaces
✔ Communicating effectively with the agronomy team and offering assistance when required

Candidate Requirements:
✔ Proven track record as a Greenkeeper in high-quality environments
✔ NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Greenkeeping and Sports Turf Management
✔ PA1, PA2, and PA6 spraying certificates (preferred but not mandatory)
✔ Good knowledge of turfgrass management and golf course operations
✔ Excellent communication and organizational skills
✔ A confident, passionate individual who can influence and inspire others
