LIV Golf expands reach with ITV broadcast deal

February 07, 2025

The Saudi-backed LIV Golf series has achieved a major breakthrough in the UK, announcing its first media rights partnership in the region with commercial broadcaster ITV for the 2025 season.

This agreement marks a significant step for LIV Golf, providing free-to-air exposure in a key market where it has previously struggled to secure broadcasting partnerships.

ITV’s coverage kicks off with the second round of the season-opening LIV Golf Riyadh tournament, which began on February 6 and concludes on Saturday.

Throughout the 2025 season, ITVX will stream 41 rounds of live golf across 14 tournaments, serving as the primary platform for full coverage of every round. Selected live broadcasts will also be available on ITV1 and ITV4. Additionally, ITV4 will air a weekly highlights show produced by LIV Golf.

This deal signifies the return of live golf to free-to-air television in the UK, a market where top golf events, including the US PGA Tour and the four majors, are typically broadcast by pay-TV network Sky Sports.

LIV Golf’s 2025 season is set to conclude with the Team Championship at LIV Golf Michigan from August 22 to 24. Other key tournament stops include Adelaide, Hong Kong, Singapore, Miami, Mexico City, South Korea, Washington DC, Dallas, Andalucia, the UK, Chicago, and Indianapolis.

Ron Wechsler, LIV Golf’s senior vice president of broadcast partnerships and programming strategy, highlighted the significance of this development, stating: "Our partnership with ITV represents a major milestone as we strive to bring LIV Golf to every corner of the world.”

This UK deal follows LIV Golf’s recent multi-year broadcast agreement with Fox Sports in the US, along with new partnerships with Coupang Play in South Korea and Movistar Plus+ in Spain.
