Overview:
A senior position within the team at Bruntsfield Links Golfing Society the Senior Assistant Professional will provide support to the Head Professional and Head Teaching Professional in all aspects of managing the golf shop and golf operations.
In hours not contracted by the Society the Assistant Professional will be able to promote their tuition services to the 1,200 strong membership utilising our covered warm up facility, indoor swing studio, grass practice area, two short games areas and large putting green.

Founded in 1761, the Bruntsfield Links Golfing Society is the fourth oldest golf club in the world and one of Scotland's most prestigious clubs located only 3 miles from Edinburgh city centre and 1 hour from The Old Course, St Andrews.
A senior position within the team at Bruntsfield Links Golfing Society the Senior Assistant Professional will provide support to the Head Professional and Head Teaching Professional in all aspects of managing the golf shop and golf operations.
In hours not contracted by the Society the Assistant Professional will be able to promote their tuition services to the 1,200 strong membership utilising our covered warm up facility, indoor swing studio, grass practice area, two short games areas and large putting green.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Golf shop – routine shop services such as sales and advice to the club members on golf shop product, inventory management and merchandising.
- Golf operations – tee sheet, competition, cart fleet, driving range and event management. Meet and greet service to visitors, groups and teams.
- Golf Tuition - Promote and deliver high quality lessons to BLGS Members
- Organise group classes for interested user groups – Juniors, Youth section, Ladies, Schools, demonstrate innovation by offering lessons / classes in periphery subject matters such as TPI, Strength / Fitness for golf, Golf Psychology etc.
Other aspects of the role will include – people management, training and development support, financial systems and controls and general administration.
Outline of the role / benefits
- Typically, 25-30 hours working week. 5 days per week, typically 5/6 hours per shift, weekend work required as well as some evening work.
- 5% pension contribution
- Nominal facility fee charged when coaching
- 29 days holiday per annum inclusive of public holidays (note, December 25 and January 1 are mandatory)

- Meal whilst on duty
- Playing access to the golf course and practice facilities
Qualifications and Experience:
- PGA Qualified/Trainee
- Strong coaching acumen
- Golf operations experience
- Have strong administrative skills
- Have a friendly demeanour and excellent people skills
- Have the work ethic to succeed in Club life.
