Ballybunion is a world top 100 golf property with two championship courses, a driving range, multiple putting greens, clubhouse grounds, several hectares of turf nurseries and a mission to deliver excellence on a daily basis. At Ballybunion you will be joining a world class agronomy department that is managing 18 holes of fescue greens and 18 holes of bent/fescue greens.

This position is ideally suited to a candidate that:

- Is working towards a senior management position in golf course maintenance/construction.

Requirements:

- Demonstrate dependability - arrive at work on time.
- Manage the crew to achieve the plan outlined for the day.
- Hold crew members accountable and prioritize tasks.
- Regularly communicate with supervisors and management team about safety, productivity goals, field issues, and employee performance.
- Greens Maintenance: Mow, water, aerate, and fertilize greens to maintain optimal turf health and playability.
- Fairways and Roughs: Perform regular mowing, edging, and trimming of fairways, roughs, and tee boxes. Apply treatments to promote healthy grass growth.
- Bunker Maintenance: Rake and maintain sand bunkers, ensuring they are properly edged and free of debris.
- Irrigation Management: Monitor and adjust irrigation systems as needed to ensure proper water distribution and avoid overwatering or drought stress.
- Pest and Disease Control: Identify and treat turfgrass diseases, pests, and weeds.
- Course Setup: Assist with daily course setup, including placement of tee markers, hole locations, and ensuring that the course is prepared for play.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate and maintain various types of groundskeeping equipment, including mowers, trimmers, aerators, and utility vehicles.
- General Landscaping: Perform general landscaping tasks, including planting, pruning, mulching, and maintaining the overall aesthetics of the golf course.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, including the proper handling and storage of chemicals and equipment.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including mowing schedules, chemical applications, and irrigation logs.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other greenskeepers, grounds staff, and the golf course supervisors to achieve course maintenance goals.
- Availability to work weekends.
