This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to manage Worcester Golf & Country Club [WG&CC], support the ongoing development of the Club and its facilities. WG&CC is a private members’ club situated at Boughton Park, Worcester and is surrounded by extensive areas of outstanding natural beauty.

The Club:

Worcester Golf & Country Club is a traditional parkland golf course and is one of the best courses in Worcestershire and the wider region, offering all year-round playability as well as a good challenge for all levels of golfers and their abilities. Designed in 1927 by Dr Alister MacKenzie, who also designed the Augusta National course in Georgia USA and numerous other prestigious courses, WG&CC has undergone a significant investment in recent years, including the installation of a “State of the Art” irrigation system and upgrades to all Tennis hardcourts.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will join a forward thinking, diverse, friendly, and aspirational Club, and must be capable of leading a team that is committed to delivering a sports and hospitality facility that exceeds the expectations of members, visitors, and guests.

Reporting to the Chairman of Directors, the General Manager:

- Will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of WG&CC (Boughton Park Limited] and will be accountable for the management of the Clubhouse, Sporting Facilities, Food & Beverage, Franchise operations, General Administration and Finance.
- Have a proven track record of achievement in senior management and administration,  preferably in a golfing or hospitality environment.
- Possess core competences that will include good business acumen, strong administration, and communication skills, proven management or overseeing a catering operation, good technology skills, good social media and marketing skills, as well as possessing commercial and financial experience to facilitate improvement to our existing systems and processes.
- Be proactive and self-motivated with a focus on quality in service delivery for both club members and guests and must be able to demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and people   management skills.
- Will be adaptable with a hands-on approach.

The Club continues on a programme of changes to enhance its facilities and with membership numbers currently being very robust, is looking forward to many more successful years.
