Overview:
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Golf Club Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of the Club, ensuring smooth and effective operations across all areas, this pivotal role involves overseeing Food and Beverage services, Golf Operations, and Course Maintenance. The Manager will also be expected to develop and implement strategic initiatives in line with the Club’s goals, while fostering strong relationships with staff, members, and external partners.
In addition to operational oversight, the Club Manager will manage the administration of the Club and its premises, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and the Club’s internal policies. The role requires sound financial acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the future of the Club, building on its strong traditions while supporting ongoing growth and development.

The Club:
Strawberry Hill Golf Club is a progressive and sociable 9-hole members’ club nestled in the heart of Southwest London. Celebrating our 125th anniversary this year, we are proud of our rich heritage and active membership of over 500 golfers, including a thriving ladies’ section. With excellent access to the M3 and M25, we are ideally situated for our members and guests across the region.

Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day administration of the Club and its premises.
- Manage the scheduling and smooth administration of all club competitions.
- Coordinate effective member communications, including newsletters and social media updates.
- Provide administrative support to the Board of Directors and associated committees.
- Optimise golf course utilisation and ensure the successful delivery of the Club’s calendar of events.
- Handle bookkeeping tasks and support the Club’s financial administration and reporting.
- Lead and manage the Club’s workforce, ensuring clear roles, performance, and engagement.
- Ensure compliance with HR obligations, including recruitment, contracts, and staff wellbeing.
About You:
- Proven experience in Golf Club or hospitality management, with a strong understanding of operations.
- Ability to adapt to the seasonal nature of the role, with flexibility for regular weekend days and occasional evening work.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage staff and engage with members.
- Highly organised, with a keen eye for detail and experience in financial and administrative tasks.
- Hands-on operator with a practical approach to managing day-to-day operations and problem-solving.
- Live-in position is desirable for you.
