Overview:
We are currently seeking two Golf Course Managers to lead the delivery, presentation, and agronomic standards of our playing surfaces: East & Edinburgh Courses – an opportunity to manage two historically significant courses with their own unique character and playing demands. West & Academy Courses – a chance to oversee one of Europe’s most famous championship layouts and an elite training environment. The Role Each Golf Course Manager will take full ownership of their allocated areas, assuming responsibility for team leadership, course performance, operational delivery, and long-term planning. These are high-profile positions requiring exceptional attention to detail, strong leadership, and the ability to work collaboratively across the wider business.

The Role Each Golf Course Manager will take full ownership of their allocated areas, assuming responsibility for team leadership, course performance, operational delivery, and long-term planning. These are high-profile positions requiring exceptional attention to detail, strong leadership, and the ability to work collaboratively across the wider business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver seasonal and long-term maintenance strategies for your courses
- Lead, manage, and develop a team of greenkeepers, fostering a high-performance and supportive culture
- Work collaboratively with the Forestry and Irrigation teams to implement shared goals and minimise disruption to play
- Liaise with the Club’s Director of Greenkeeping and Estates to ensure plans are aligned with club standards and member expectations
- Maintain strong working relationships across other departments including Golf Operations, Facilities, People & Culture, Finance, and Marketing
- Oversee course improvements, renovations, and machinery use in coordination with the Head Mechanic
- Manage departmental budgets, payroll forecasting, and procurement processes
- Uphold all Health & Safety and environmental responsibilities in line with Club policies
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience as a Golf Course Manager or Deputy Course Manager at a premium golf facility
- Strong agronomic and fine turf management expertise
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Sound financial awareness with experience managing budgets and resources
- A BSc in a related field such as Sports Turf Science
- Agronomy, or Turfgrass Management is desirable
- A collaborative, organised, and proactive approach with a passion for continuous improvement
