We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Golf Course Workshop Mechanic/Greenkeeper to join our team, which is committed to consistently delivering outstanding playing facilities. The role will include preventative maintenance, servicing, and repair of our course machinery/equipment.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical background coupled with an excellent understanding of agricultural machinery. In addition to possessing strong technical expertise, the candidate must exhibit a commitment to teamwork and effective communication, as close collaboration with other greenkeeping staff is essential to the role.

Weybrook Park Golf Club - Golf Course Workshop Mechanic/Greenkeeper
Salary: £35,000.00-£39,000.00 per year
Situated on the Hampshire Downs, Weybrook Park boasts an 18-hole downland West Course and a 9-hole parkland East Course. Based on free-draining chalk enables us to enjoy all-year-round golf on both of our high-quality courses. We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Golf Course Workshop Mechanic/Greenkeeper to join our team, which is committed to consistently delivering outstanding playing facilities. The role will include preventative maintenance, servicing, and repair of our course machinery/equipment.

In addition to possessing strong technical expertise, the candidate must exhibit a commitment to teamwork and effective communication, as close collaboration with other greenkeeping staff is essential to the role.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine diagnosis and dependable repairs on golf course machinery and equipment in a timely and efficient manner
- Conduct regular inspections of tools and machinery to identify maintenance needs
- Use knowledge of grinding techniques and sharpening equipment to ensure optimum cutting results from bladed machinery
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and operational efficiencies
- Repair and fabricate items using various welding types (MIG, TIG, etc)
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational protocols throughout the workshop and course
- These tasks are not exhaustive, and from time to time, there may be duties asked of you around the business that are not contained in this Job Description.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a qualified mechanic, preferably in a golf or similar agricultural role
- Strong knowledge of turf management practices and equipment operation
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues on various machinery
- Good working knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems and how to manage and repair
- Be able to manage the parts and service budget to order materials as required
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication skills and a positive attitude
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and use of IT systems
- Valid driver's license
