This includes responsibility for dealing with membership administration, processing new member applications, diary management and coordination, and handling group and visitor bookings. The role is central to delivering a high-quality experience for both members and guests, supporting the club’s reputation for excellence and service.
This is a varied position that offers the successful candidate a unique opportunity to gain broad operational experience within an established and highly regarded private members’ golf club. It is ideally suited to someone aspiring to become a Golf Club General Manager. The successful candidate will support the General Manager in the overall management of the Club and will act as deputy in their absence. Structured training and professional development will be provided to help develop the leadership and operational skills required to progress into a future General Manager role.

Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
- Diary and Event Management: Manage the accurate coordination of the Club’s diary, including matches, competitions, society bookings, and social events. Lead weekly diary briefings and ensure timely updates to members via the website and weekly schedules.
- Financial Administration: Raise invoices for golf groups, monitor payments and bank activity, manage member match fees, and oversee the annual subscription renewal process from invoicing to reconciliation.
- Society and Group Bookings: Handle all aspects of society and group bookings, from initial enquiry and deposits to catering, tee times, dietary needs, and follow-up, ensuring a high-quality experience.
- Member and Visitor Relations: Act as the first point of contact for visiting groups and society organisers, providing a warm welcome and ensuring all arrangements are in place on the day.
- Club Competitions and Matches: Support Club competitions, assist with WHS queries, and coordinate with match managers to communicate arrangements to staff and members.
- Membership Administration: Manage membership enquiries, applications, records, and waiting lists, including lockers and trolleys. Guide new members from initial enquiry to successful onboarding.
- Office and General Management: Deputise for the General Manager when required, manage member communications, handle general enquiries, prepare reports, and assist with internal office tasks and filtering matters to the GM.
- Marketing and Communications: Manage the Club’s website content and social media platforms, generating engaging content to support internal and external marketing initiatives.
- Social and Trophy Events: Support the organisation of Club social events, maintain records of winners, manage trophy engraving, honours boards, and the purchase of competition prizes.
- Governance and Compliance: Assist with preparation for AGMs and SGM meetings, support the Captains’ Committee, and ensure awareness and adherence to Club policies, Health and Safety, and legal compliance.
- Professional Development: Commit to ongoing learning and development through relevant industry bodies such as the GCMA and CMAE to support career progression toward a General Manager role.
About You:
We are seeking a forward-thinking, highly capable professional who brings:
- A genuine passion for developing a long-term career in Golf Club Management.
- Solid understanding of golf and the traditions associated with private members’ clubs.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including regular weekend working.
- Reside within or be willing to relocate to within one hour of the Club.
- Strong IT proficiency, particularly in Office 365, with experience in Intelligent Golf software preferred.
