Alex Noren clinches second BMW PGA Championship title after play-off triumph
September 14, 2025
Both players finished tied at 19 under par after 72 holes, three shots clear of the chasing pack, before Noren sealed it at the first extra hole. The Ryder Cup vice-captain struck a superb approach from the rough to set up a short birdie putt, securing his 12th DP World Tour title.
The win continues a red-hot run for Noren following last month’s Betfred British Masters triumph. Since 2009, only Rory McIlroy has lifted more DP World Tour titles.
For Saddier, it was another near miss after recent chances at the European Masters and Irish Open. England’s Aaron Rai and former Masters champion Patrick Reed shared third on 16 under after matching 66s.
“This tournament is unbelievable. I think it’s one of the best in the world and it just gets better every year… It was such a tough, emotional back nine in the rain.” — Alex Noren
