Lawrence crowned king of the mountains with second Omega European Masters victory

September 01, 2025

South African Thriston Lawrence made history by claiming his second Omega European Masters title in style, holding off a strong international field to win by two shots at the iconic Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club.

Lawrence, who also won this event in 2022, showcased his poise and precision throughout the week. His final round of 67, which included four birdies and just a single bogey, brought him to a winning total of 18-under-par. The triumph sees him become a two-time champion in Switzerland and adds another highlight to his growing resume on the DP World Tour.

The South African’s steady play over four days (66-68-65-67) proved enough to fend off a late charge from Denmark’s Nicolai Højgaard and Frenchman Matthieu Pavon. Both pushed hard in the final round, but Lawrence's calm putting and clutch ball-striking under pressure earned him the crystal trophy once again.

This win not only moves Lawrence up the DP World Tour rankings but also bolsters his hopes of making future international teams and gaining further exemptions into upcoming major championships. The picturesque Swiss Alps once again provided a breathtaking backdrop for one of Europe's most beloved tournaments.
