Scheffler storms to recordequalling win at the 2025 CJ Cup Byron Nelson

May 05, 2025

World number one Scottie Scheffler produced a dominant display at the 2025 CJ Cup Byron Nelson, cruising to victory in front of a home crowd at TPC Craig Ranch with a phenomenal 31-under-par total — equalling the lowest 72-hole score in PGA Tour history.

The Dallas-born golfer carded rounds of 61, 63, 66 and 63 to post a four-round total of 253, tying the all-time scoring record set by Justin Thomas (2017) and Ludvig Åberg (2023). It was a wire-to-wire win, with Scheffler never relinquishing the lead from day one.

Speaking after the final round, Scheffler, who made his PGA Tour debut at this very event over a decade ago, called it a "dream come true" to finally win his hometown tournament. “I grew up watching this event as a kid. To now lift the trophy here, with my family by my side, means everything,” he said.
