Scottie Scheffler clinches victory at BMW Championship in Maryland

August 20, 2025

World number one Scottie Scheffler added another trophy to his stellar 2025 season, winning the BMW Championship at Caves Valley Golf Club, Maryland. Scheffler delivered a commanding performance over four days, finishing at 16-under-par, edging out Scotland’s Robert MacIntyre by two shots.

Scheffler, who has already collected multiple titles this year, showcased his trademark consistency and calm under pressure. Rounds of 66, 67, 69, and 66 saw him take control of the leaderboard and hold firm, even as MacIntyre mounted a spirited challenge in the final round.

The win further strengthens Scheffler’s position atop the FedExCup standings and sets him up as the firm favourite heading into the season-ending Tour Championship.

MacIntyre Shines on American Soil

Robert MacIntyre turned heads with a superb runner-up finish at 14-under-par. The Scotsman produced his best showing yet on American soil, with rounds of 68-68-67-67, giving the leaderboard a distinctly international flavour. His strong showing bodes well for the upcoming Ryder Cup selection discussions.

Other notable performances included England’s Matt Fitzpatrick, who finished tied fifth, and Rory McIlroy of Northern Ireland, who carded a final-round 65 to climb into the top 10.
