An excellent overall understanding of Health and Safety protocols in the workplace is required along with ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Description:

Hesketh Golf Club require a full time experienced Assistant Greenkeeper to join our Greenkeeping team to assist the team in providing a first class Golf Course to its members and visitors.

Hesketh Golf Club is a highly regarded Championship course in Southport on England’s Golf Coast. The club has a proud history of hosting county, regional and international events, most recently, Regional Qualifying for The Open and The English Under 18’s Championship. The club is set to host Regional Qualifying once again in 2026 for The Open at Royal Birkdale.

The successful candidate will join a dedicated team responsible for the maintenance and development of our championship links course. 

Candidates should be self-motivated, enthusiastic and possess good communication skills. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate an excellent understanding of greenkeeping practices and have an exceptional eye for detail. An excellent overall understanding of Health and Safety protocols in the workplace is required along with ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Ability to undertake daily turf maintenance and preparation to high standards.
- To be able to achieve a high level of attention to detail in all tasks being undertaken.
- To be a highly motivated and productive individual with a strong work ethic able to work as part of a close team.
- To communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors and members.
- To be able to carry out a variety of tasks that will require flexibility in skill set’s.
- Excellent time management and communication skills.
- To maintain healthy and safe working practices at all times.

Qualifications & Experience:

- The club seeks candidates which have Qualified to Level 2 or equivalent or are on the pathway to qualification.
- Chainsaw and Spraying Licenses / Qualifications are advantageous.
- Must maintain a UK Driving License.

Hours/days per week:

Average of 42 hours per week, including working one Saturday and Sunday every three weeks.

Annual Salary:

Dependant on experience and qualifications.
