Overview:
The Clubhouse Manager will play a central role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Golf Club’s clubhouse, with primary responsibility for the Food and Beverage department. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this position will manage a diverse team that includes the Head Chef, Bar Supervisors, and service staff, ensuring excellence in both food preparation and service delivery. The role requires strong leadership to set and maintain high standards across all aspects of hospitality, with a focus on training, mentoring, and inspiring the team to provide a consistent and exceptional member and guest experience.
In addition to leading the Food and Beverage function, the Clubhouse Manager will take responsibility for facility management and ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements, alcohol licensing laws, and all relevant regulatory standards. This is a hands-on leadership position that demands high personal standards, attention to detail, and the ability to drive performance while fostering a positive team culture.

Located in the vibrant, picturesque town of Croxley Green, just a short distance from Watford and Rickmansworth and within easy reach of the M25, the club offers excellent facilities for both members and visitors. Our clubhouse features a lounge bar with seating for up to 160, alongside three versatile event rooms accommodating up to 50 guests. In recent years, we have undertaken a significant programme of capital investment to ensure our facilities remain at a premium level, delivering the high standards and experience that our members are accustomed to.
Package & Benefits:
- Salary £45,000 to £50,000 pa.
- Discretionary annual bonus plan

Key Responsibilities:
- Food & Beverage Budgeting, prepare and deliver annual F&B budgets aligned with club strategy and financial goals.
- Cost Control & Stock Management, monitor F&B costs, manage ordering, stock levels, invoice procedures, wastage, and EPOS system accuracy.
- Collaboration & Coordination, work closely with the GM/Committee and Head Chef to plan, coordinate, and refine food and beverage offerings for members, functions, and events.
- Clubhouse Security & Access, act as key holder, responsible for opening, closing, and ensuring the overall security of the clubhouse.
- Facility Maintenance, implement and manage a maintenance schedule covering repairs, upkeep, and decoration of the clubhouse and its surroundings.
- Staff Training & Development, oversee training programs and professional development for both full-time and temporary staff to ensure service excellence.
- Professional Standards, maintain and enforce high standards of behaviour, appearance, and conduct across all staff to create a professional and welcoming atmosphere.
- Health & Safety Compliance, lead all health and safety initiatives, ensuring safe working practices throughout the clubhouse.
About You:
- Proven experience in golf club or hospitality management, with a strong record of accomplishment in operational leadership.
- Flexible and adaptable to the seasonal nature of the role, with availability for regular weekend work and occasional evenings.
- A hands-on operator with a practical approach to managing day-to-day operations.
- Based within, or willing to relocate to, one hour of the Club.
