About Get Golfing:
Get Golfing CIO is a pioneering charity that exists to support struggling golf facilities and make golf more inclusive, accessible, and community-focused. We manage a growing number of golf courses across the UK and reinvest in our venues, people, and communities to ensure the long-term health of the game. We are now looking for a Deputy Course Manager to join our talented team at Sherfield Oaks Golf Club, supporting the Course Manager in delivering an exceptional playing experience for our members and guests.
Role Purpose:
As Deputy Course Manager, you’ll play a key role in the daily maintenance and improvement of our course. You'll work hands-on with the greenkeeping team while assisting in planning and supervising operations, ensuring we continue to uphold the highest standards in course conditioning and environmental stewardship.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Course Manager in all aspects of course maintenance, team leadership, and project planning
- Lead the greenkeeping team in the absence of the Course Manager
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and efficiently
- Participate in agronomic planning, irrigation management, and machinery maintenance
- Monitor course quality and implement best practices to improve playability and sustainability
- Assist with staff training and development
Requirements:
- Qualified to a minimum of NVQ Level 2 in Sports Turf Management (Level 3 desirable)
- PA1, PA2, and PA6 spraying certificates
- At least 3 years experience in a senior position
- Experience operating a wide range of turf machinery
- Strong understanding of modern greenkeeping practices and course setup
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience
- Passionate about golf course presentation and sustainability
- Full UK driving licence
