Overview:

As an employee of MGC, you will be working collaboratively with the Women and Girls Project Team, the wider professional staff in MGC, and to look outwith MGC to promote and develop relationships with external partners to identify and remove barriers to women and girls joining, playing, improving and leading within MGC.

The successful applicant will work with Scottish Golf and other external partners to create opportunities and creating pathways to grow women and girls participating in golf, promoting inclusivity within MGC.

MGC have been awarded a grant from Scottish Golf.  This funding enables us to recruit an enthusiastic individual to drive forward the club’s ongoing commitment to promote inclusivity and grow participation among women and girls golf at all levels of the game. The new coordinator will play a key role in developing initiatives that encourage newcomers to take up golf, support existing female members, and strengthen community links through golf-based activities and events.

Person Specification

To be able to evidence the following essential skills / qualities

Experience of working in a sports related environment
Has an understanding of golf or demonstrates a willingness to learn
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  
A good standard of spoken and written English.
Positive response to a fast changing working environment;
Demonstrates ability to problem solve
Proven ability to work unsupervised and using own initiative
A flexible attitude to all aspects of work, hours and tasks. 
Working and delivering against deadlines.
IT competency – eg MS Office/excel
Willingness to undertake Protection of Vulnerable Groups vetting

Desirable skills and qualities

Previous experience of working in a sports ambassador role.
Proven track record of working collaboratively and bringing people together
Demonstrate success in achieving a sports related project or programme
