Situated on the outskirts of Northampton in the picturesque village of Harlestone, Northampton Golf Club boasts a magnificent 18-hole championship course along with an equally stunning clubhouse. We are rightly proud of our rich history and are now seeking an ambitious and inspirational Managing Director to lead this private member’s club into its next exciting chapter.

The Role

The Managing Director is accountable for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational excellence of the golf club. This position ensures that all members and guests receive an exceptional experience, while maintaining the club’s reputation for quality and service.

Key Responsibilities

- Leadership: Provide visionary leadership and effective management to all club staff.
- Operations: Oversee all golf club operations, including the golf course, members services, buildings and facilities, events, and social activities.
- Standards: Ensure the highest standards are maintained across the golf course, clubhouse, and all facilities.
- Financial Performance: Develop and manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and achieve revenue and profitability targets.
- Inclusivity: Foster a welcoming and inclusive club culture, promoting the game of golf to members and the wider community.
- Relationships: Build strong relationships with members, guests, and external partners.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and health & safety standard
- Staff management: Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate all staff.
- Facilities: Ensure the golf course and related facilities are in excellent condition.
- Customer Service: Handle member and guest complaints, ensuring satisfaction.
- Marketing: Promote the club and its programs to attract and retain members.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sports Management or arelated field preferred.
- Significant experience in Business and Golf Club Management, with a proven track record of success.

We are looking for someone with a proven track record on golf club, leisure or hospitality management and in developing, leading and inspiring dedicated teams.

You will bring:

- Strong financial and commercial acumen.
- An appreciation of golf and the expectations and traditions of a member’s
club
- Exceptional communication and people management skills.
- Experience of leading a food and beverage team for routine daily service
and for Club & Private events
- A proven ability to inspire teams and deliver results.
- A passion for sport, service, and community
