Heartbreak for Fleetwood as Keegan Bradley denies him first PGA Tour title

June 23, 2025

Tommy Fleetwood suffered yet another narrow miss on the PGA Tour as Keegan Bradley claimed victory at the 2025 Travelers Championship with a one-shot win at TPC River Highlands in Connecticut.

Fleetwood entered the final round with a three-shot lead and looked in control for much of the day. However, a bogey at the par-3 17th and a costly three-putt on the final green saw the Englishman finish on 14-under-par – agonisingly short of a long-awaited breakthrough win on American soil.

Keegan Bradley, cheered on by a passionate New England crowd, remained composed throughout a tense final round. A clutch birdie on the 15th pulled him level, and a tidy finish including a closing par sealed his eighth PGA Tour title. He finished with a final-round 68 to post a 72-hole total of 265, one better than Fleetwood and Russell Henley.

Fleetwood’s performance was typically solid through the opening holes, including steady driving and confident putting. But as the pressure built, missed chances began to creep in. Despite the disappointment, he remained gracious in defeat and continues to earn plaudits for his sportsmanship and consistency.

Bradley's win propels him up the FedExCup rankings and moves him closer to securing a place on the United States Ryder Cup team. It's also a significant boost to his confidence, having not lifted a trophy since the 2023 Zozo Championship.

Fleetwood, meanwhile, will once again turn his attention to the majors and the chance to finally lift a trophy on American soil. His runner-up finish marks the sixth time he has placed second on the PGA Tour without a win – a record he will be keen to put behind him.
