Description:
Position: Greenkeeper (3 positions)
Compensation Package: $25+/hour (tax-free) + Bonuses + Other Benefits
The Mid Ocean Club is excited to announce the exceptional career opportunity of Greenkeeper. The Mid Ocean Club is in Tucker’s Town, Bermuda, and is an original 1921 Charles Blair McDonald/Seth Raynor Design. MOC is currently ranked #33 in the world by Golf Digest, #78 Platinum Club Of The World and was most recently recognized for Overseas Employer of the Year by Investors in People. MOC has recently hired Gil Hanse to perform a master plan which will be revealed in the spring of 2023. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone wanting to be apart of major construction projects at a top 100 club.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skill Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum two years’ experience in a similar or related field.
- Working knowledge of Toro or Rainbird irrigation systems.
- Knowledge of golf course maintenance, fertilizers and chemical usage preferred.
- Interest in the game of golf and a valid drivers license is required. A certificate in Turf Management would be a significant asset.
Normal working hours are Monday – Friday 5:30AM – 2:00PM. Weekends and public holidays are 5:30AM-9:30AM.
Position Responsibilities:
- Mow greens, tees, aprons, approaches to greens, roughs, fairways.
- Edge and maintain sand traps with hand and power rake.
- Aerate greens and tees, verticuts tees and greens, spikes greens, operates sod cutter, and operates a sprayer for greens and tees.
- Fertilize greens, tees, fairways and rough.
- Maintain gasoline, oil and other equipment fluid levels daily, and immediately reports equipment problems and failures.
- Perform basic preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Utilize loaders to remove dirt, debris, and other materials.
- Drive a dump truck to haul materials and refuse, operates portable pumps.
- Occasionally operate various machines in the absence of the Equipment Operator.
- Change pins and tee markers as required.
- Removal and replacement of worn and damaged turf.
- Observe and monitor turf and when it is not in good condition and report observations.
- Top-dress greens and tees with motorized equipment.
